The Laurel Farmers' Market began in 1996 when the Laurel Board of Trade recognized the need for a fresh vegetables and fruit concession. The market was first set up in Riverfront Park along the Patuxent River at the north end of Avondale Street and resided there for four years. It was then moved to Main Street for more visibility.
The market also supports the Maryland WIC program, (Women, Infants and Children) Supplemental Nutrition Program.
If your are a Maryland local farmer and would like to participate selling your wares, please call our business office, Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm, 301-483-0838. More vendor information will be available online in March 2011.

Trick or treat, on Main Street is held the Thursday before Halloween - Thursday, October 25th, 2012, 6-8 pm.
This event is loved by the many businesses along the street. Some of the shop owners dress in costume greeting the 1200+ children and their parents.
The evening event is 6:00pm – 8:00pm and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The Laurel Police Department and the Laurel Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will be out helping to keep everyone safe.

We are getting ready for the 16th Annual Riverfest. The festival will start off with a 5k Run/Walk sponsored by First Generation College Bound. They hope to top last year's 130 runners.
The Festival takes place along the bank of the Patuxent River in Riverfront Park. There will be a host of vendors - arts & crafts, raffles, community groups, food vendors - and live entertainment throughout the day. The Blue Sky Puppet Theatre will return to entertain the young at heart - regardless of your age.. There are hayrides during the day along the Patuxent River
History Of Riverfest
The Festival was started in 1995 to celebrate the completion of Riverfront Park along the beautiful Patuxent River in Laurel, Maryland. A family day planned for the entertainment of the entire family providing events for the young and old. Riverfest is held in Riverfront Park located on the north side of Main Street. The park can be accessed by foot via 4th Street or Avondale Street. (The Patuxent River is the boundary between Prince George's County and Howard County.)
